The New Health Care Reform

As most of you have already heard, our country's new health care reform was passed by the House last Sunday. The Affordable Health Care for America Act actually restricts insurance companies from raising your rates or denying you coverage just because you have a preexisting condition or medical history. The new reform is also promising that 96% of Americans that currently can't afford insurance will be able to afford it.
To me, it sounds to good to be true. And, how is the government going to make sure that every insurance company in America is following this Act? My guess is setting up a new agency to make sure everyone is adhering to the law. But, where is all the money to support this agency going to come from? Hmm.... tax dollars? Just printing more money? Either of the two doesn't sound good, and it's really not. So, yet again the wealthy are back to paying for everyone else's insurance. And if it's not coming from taxes, then the value of the American dollar is going to come down even more and our National Debt is going to sky rocket.
Despite everything negative about our new health care, at least the House did get a bill passed. Now it's all up to Congress to approve it. However, most Republicans are opposed to the reform, so who knows if this bill is going to get passed or not. But, at least the House tried.

  1. This bill can go in a lot of directions. I can see many citizens outraged because this will cause a sudden tax increase. This wouldn't irritate the wealthy, but it can definately damage the poor people barely making ends meet. But I guess it all works out when everyone will be able to afford health insurance. It'll at least make America NOT a bad country for health insurance (as it is right now). I highly doubt that many people will need health insurance, but at least they have it.... right?

  2. I don't think it's fair to say that raising taxes will be the demise of the country. At most it will go up a % or 2, if it even goes up. When you see those numbers of billions of tax dollars that represents the whole country. You as a person pay such a small fee. Sure it adds up over time, but to say that free health insurance isn't worth it? A new agency won't be any different from the other government run agencies. The value of the American dollar goes up and down everyday, it's just on certain weeks it is more downward it is brought to the media's attention. The country has been, and will most likely always be in serious debt.

  3. I don’t like what Obama is trying to do with the health care reform. If the new health care bill is passed, health care insurers will go under because they will not be able to compete with the low prices that the government health care plan will cost.
This is detrimental to our economy because health care is fifteen percent of our economy, and killing the health care insurers will devastate the economy. The financial consequences of this bill are very high.
